Banks, Oregon- The “Banks Bullring” returns to racing after a weekend off on Saturday, August 24th. The ¼-mile clay oval last witnessed action on Thursday, the 15th while last Saturday and Sunday had the Banks BBQ and Tractor Pulls. Classes on the card include the Outlaw Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bee’s, and both Micro divisions.
Ticket prices are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Kids (5 & Under) are FREE. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths (6-12)) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. In six races there have been two different Outlaw Late Model feature winners. Those two chauffeurs happen to be Sonny Modaff and Brian Winkler with three each. Joey Tardio looks to continue his winning form in the Street Stocks. The Forest Grove gasser has won the last four straight features in the division. Craig Loomis is a three-time victor while drivers with just a single triumph include Frank Elwess, Arnie Case, and Zack Simpson.
In the Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stock ranks Jacob Myers has been in prime form. The Portland pilot has visited victory lane the last three main events and has amassed a total of five wins. With four wins on the current campaign is point leader Austin Henderson over Kendall Lee who has hoisted a victor’s trophy on just one occasion.
Justen McConnville has tamed the Open Micro class three times this season. A long list of one race winners includes Jeff Little, Josh Thompson, Jesse Schlotfeldt, and Malachi Gemmer. In the Restricted Micros, you will find that Keira Zylstra has accrued three victories. Macie Logsdon, Mason Dineen, Braden Maltais, and Colby Thornhill all have just one win.
