Inheriting the lead, when the two frontrunners collided on lap 11, Ford went on to pace the remainder of the feature at Wartburg Speedway en route to his first-career Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series victory.

Ford received $4,000 for his second overall triumph of the year, and with the win extended his advantage atop the latest Valvoline Iron-Man Series Southern Region standings.

“Kinda had it handed to us right there. McIntosh and the 66 (Rodabaugh) got together and it just kinda presented itself right in my lap,” Ford said. “I was lucky enough to get by them. It didn’t really get tore up that bad. I knew after that, just stay around the bottom and protect the bottom and I knew we was gonna be hard to pass. Then on Saturday night at I-75 Raceway we had another solid night with a second-place finish. I’m really proud of what our team has been able to accomplish so far this season.

“Now we are getting geared up to race at Eldora Speedway for the first time in the double Dirt Late Model Dream events this week. Needless to say, we are very excited.”

Jensen Ford invaded Wartburg Speedway (Wartburg, Tenn.) on Friday evening for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series-sanctioned Donald “Ducky” Jones Memorial. In a field of 20 cars, Ford locked into the third-starting position for the A-Main via his qualifying effort. Sneaking into the lead on the 11th lap after the frontrunners were collected in a tangle, Jensen charged to his second win of the season, which came over Eddie King Jr., Anthony White, Garrett Smith, and Mike Weeks. He earned $4,000 for his winning performance.

On Saturday afternoon at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.), Jensen topped the 23-car field in time trials, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the $4,000-to-win A-Main. Unable to close the distance on race-long leader Cory Hedgecock, Ford settled with a second-place finish behind Hedgecock. David Crabtree, Garrett Smith, and Colton Profitt completed the Top-5 finishers in the 40-lap affair.
