Track Information
MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY opened for on-track action in 2009 under new ownership and management.
After hours, days, weeks, months, & years of effort MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY, today, is a completely remodeled, state-of-the-art racing facility which regularly receives praise from drivers and fans alike!
Formerly know as "Tri-Oval Speedway" and "River Raceways" (a landmark 3/8 mile three-cornered tri-oval dirt racing track), the thunder of automobile racing first roared out of the pine trees when the track was founded in 1968. After years of three-cornered fun and excitement the previous owner of Tri-Oval Speedway made the decision in the fall of 2008 to sell the track to racer and successfull local business man Bob Timm. With more than 200 A-Mod Feature Wins through his career, Bob's accomplishments as a driver provided the knowledge needed to bring the track up to the top level needed for success in the heart of USRA & WISSOTA Country.
At the close of the 2008 season, work began to reshape the once three turn configuration into a high banked sweeping four corner track that continues to excite the best-of-the-best up to the present day.
