Track Information
The world famous Freedom Factory located in Bradenton, Florida is owned by well known YouTuber and car enthusiast Cleetus McFarland. The track was constructed in the early 1970's as Desoto Speedway. The 3/8 mile asphalt oval, with 12 degree banking through the turns, quickly became known as the fastest 3/8 mile speedway in the south. Being one of the most popular race tracks in the state, it has seen many NASCAR and circle track icons compete here.
Desoto Speedway
The Speedway was constructed in the early 1970s and is a 3/8-mile paved oval with 12 degree banking through the turns. With seating for 5,000, the fans are able to see a wide range of cars during the normal Saturday night program. The variety of classes competing includes Winged & NON Winged Springs, Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Legends, Mini Stock, Modified Mini, Pro Trucks.
Our 3/8th mile oval track is 1/3 mile around the 10-foot apron And is 1/2 mile around the outside retaining wall. The asphalt Racing surface is 60 feet wide with the turns banked at 12 degrees and the straight-aways banked at 6 degrees. Average lap time for the Open Wheel Modified is more than 90 mph and speeds can Reach more than 100 mph down the straight-aways. The track, pit area and parking lots are illuminated with 135,000 watts of halide lighting for safety as well as convenience.
Food and beverages are offered in our concession stand areas located in the main grandstand area and the pit side.
