COLFAX COMET TO COMPETE WITH WAR

Indianapolis, IN – The Legendary “Colfax Comet” plans to race this Saturday, March 26, at I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., for the WAR Sprint Car Series 2016 season opener. The 2015 Kenny Schrader Real Racer of the Year award winner made the decision to shed the wing from his sprint car two years ago and has shown steady improvement to his race operation since.

“I can’t wait to race with the WAR series,” said Bell. “I’m really proud that I got a special invite from Casey and Brooke after they took over the series this year. There’s no doubt in my mind that they will be the best series owners around. Casey’s dad was an excellent promoter, and he’s just like his dad. WAR is just going to get bigger and bigger, and I’m excited to be part of it this weekend.”

This will be Bell’s first attempt competing with WAR. He hopes to run more shows throughout the season but has yet to finalize a schedule for 2016.

“I’ve always thought that Robert’s attitude stood out at the racetrack. He is genuinely happy to be racing, no matter what, and he loves this sport,” said Casey Shuman, WAR Owner. “We want to put on a good show for the fans, but I also see great importance in our competitors enjoying their nights racing with us. So, inviting Robert to join WAR was a no-brainer considering his resilient personality. I’m excited to see him compete with our group.”

The season opener is sure to be an event to remember with WAR regulars in attendance and the addition of Robert Bell and Silver Crown sensation Shane Cockrum. Cockrum will compete in WAR Veteran John Helm’s place, as Helm is currently recovering from hip replacement surgery. See details about Saturday’s event below.
