WEYANT WINS WAR AT I-35

Winston, MO (June 4, 2016) - Taking over the top spot on lap one from polesitter Ryan Kitchen, Korey Weyant scored his second straight Boss Chassis WAR Series win on Saturday at I-35 Speedway.

Weyant showed solid speed early as he was chased by Kitchen and Chris Parkinson. Weyant had a solid lead over Kitchen, but the action behind the lead duo was intense among a group of drivers including Parkinson, Terry Babb, Cody Baker, and Clinton Boyles.

The action would be halted with ten laps complete as Vinny Ward spun a full 360 in between turns 3 and 4 bringing out the yellow flag.

Weyant would lead Kitchen and Parkinson on the restart, but on lap eleven, Cody Baker was able to move past both to take over the second spot. On lap thirteen, Boyles worked his way past Parkinson and into fourth from his ninth starting spot.

Baker would move in on Weyant for the top spot around this same time as he applied heavy pressure, but he would get too high coming off of turn two and lost a lot of ground. This appeared to be a wake-up call for Weyant as he would not be challenged again.

Lap seventeen would see Boyles move past Kitchen for third and a lap later, Jordan Mallett, making a rare non-winged start, moved past Parkinson and into fifth.

Weyant checked out over the last handful of laps, but the battle for second was intense as Boyles attempted slide jobs three different times on Baker only to see the Lone Jack, MO driver turn under and gain the position back.

Weyant was the class of the field in his Ealey Transportation/Mahan Fiberglass Eagle with Automotive Machine power. Baker ran a strong second in his David Long-owned Hinchman Racewear/Ultra Shield Maxim with Ott power. Boyles was third in his Jesse Hockett Racing/Lucas Oil/Rod End Supply Maxim with RMS power. Kitchen was a solid fourth in his Maxim with Kitchen power under the hood. Mallett ended up fifth in his Water for Christ/Porter Refrigeration GF-1 with Dyno Tech power. Babb was sixth in the KCBJ Motorsports/Faith Flat-Out Ministries Eagle with Stanton power. Parkinson was seventh in his Country Kids Daycare/54th Street Grill and Bar DRC with Kevin's Liberty Machine Shop power. Rounding out the top ten were TJ Muths, in the Quality Body Shop Maxim with a Scott's Engine, Kenny Potter, in his Dayco Painting XXX with Wesmar power, and Kameron Key in the Helm Racing Wesmar-powered Eagle.

The Boss Chassis WAR Series will next be in action at the Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday June 18.
