BABB BEST AT I-35

Winston, MO (August 20, 2016)-Overtaking race leader Korey Weyant on a lap 24 restart, Terry Babb picked up his third Boss Chassis WAR Series win of 2016 on Saturday at I-35 Speedway.

Clinton Boyles moved into the lead at the start as he was followed by Weyant. Weyant used a good run down the backstretch to get by Boyles on lap two.
Weyant steadily increased his lead as he was followed by Boyles and Chris Parkinson. The first yellow would come out for TJ Muths and Katlynn Leer, who got together in turn one. Both would be able to continue.

Weyant would hold on to his lead as Parkinson and Babb would move past Boyles with Mitchell Moore and Ryan Kitchen close behind.

With 23 laps complete, Kitchen got turned around in between turns one and two leaving Warren Johnson with nowhere to go as he slammed into the Lincoln, NE driver. Both drivers were finished for the night. Boyles, who was running fourth at the time, pulled into the pits just before the cars retook the green flag with a flat tire and was unable to make it back out for the start as the WAR points leader missed finishing in the top five for only the second time this season.

On the restart, Babb used a very aggressive slide job in turn two to take over the top spot. Babb increased his lead to go on to his third win of 2016 in the KCBJ Motorsports/Faith Flat-out Ministries Maxim powered by a Stanton-Mopar motor. Weyant was second in his Ealey Transportation/Mahan's Fiberglass/Moore Automotive Eagle with Automotive Machine power. Parkinson was third in the 54th Street Bar and Grill/Country Kids Daycare/Design Source Flooring DRC with Kevin's Liberty Machine power. Moore was fourth in the Kelly Potter owned Moore-powered XXX. Muths worked his way back up to fifth in the Quality Body Shop/Scott Racing Engines Maxim. Leer was sixth as she was followed by Kenny Potter and Bob Weuve.
Andrew Genkinger got upside down hard as he flipped along the catch fence in the first heat. Michael Ell climbed the tire of another car on the start of the second heat as he went end over end over the turn one bank. His throttle then stuck and he continued through a fence, before coming to rest into a light pole. Luckily, both drivers were able to walk away from these scary accidents.
Mitch Wissmiller, who scored a dominant win in his heat, was scheduled to start on the pole, but pulled into the pits with engine problems just before the drivers lined up for the A-Main.

The Boss Chassis WAR Series will make its first appearance of 2016 at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO next Saturday August 27. They will then return to the Bethany Fairgrounds Speedway in Bethany, MO on Sunday September 4.
