Spalding, Cadwallader, Bailey, Bouzek triumph at I-35 Speedway

By Phillip Wilson (Winston, MO) -- It was C.A.R.B. night presented by Casey's at I-35 Speedway. One Hundred and sixteen (116) cars checked in for an awesome night of racing that saw the final checkered flag wave around 9:45 P.M. in a quick and efficient program. There was 3-4 wide racing all night long that left the fans on the edge of their seat.

The E-Mods were first to enter the smooth lighting fast 3/8th mile dirt oval. Casey Burnett took the lead early and had a great battle with Lane Mathews but in the end, Burnett would capture his 4th win of the season. Mathews finished second, Chris Dishong and Adam continue their strong seasons finishing third and fourth with Andrew Thomas having a good run in fifth.

The Pure Stocks we're next to hit the track with Chase Galvan picking up the win over fierce competition. Jon Boller Jr. proved he's still got it as he stepped back behind the wheel finishing second, leading early. Tommy Luft had a great battle with Ava Dixon as he finished third with Ava fourth and her father Brandon Dixon right behind her in fifth.

Shayne Bailey captured his fourth win of 2022 in four races in the Midwest Limited Late Models as he pumped his fist in the air coming across the checkered flag. Right on his bumper at the end finishing second was Austin Johnson followed by Paul Glendenning, Tommy Cordray and Ed Noll.

Tonight was the first night of 2022 for the Midwest Lightening Sprints as the defending Series champion Chase Fischer picked up the win. Jeff Bard was hot on his heels finishing second, 3rd spot went to Trice Rowden, fourth was Tyler Johnson and fifth Kaden Cochrun.

The USRA B-Mods went 15 laps caution free in a thriller. Matt Dotson led 13 laps of the event until the defending track champion found his groove. Tyler Cadwallader made his move to the point with 2 laps to go to pick up his first win on the season. Dotson would finish second, Corey Myers battled for the lead early until he fell into a battle for third with Tim Galvan. Myers held on for third, Galvan was fourth and Parker Smith was fifth.

Austin Bouzek won his 3rd USRA Stock Car feature with only 1 caution in the 15 lap race. The fierce battle that ensued was for spots 2-6. Nic Hanes edged out Doug Keller, Jeff Dixon and Kasey Ayers for second. With Keller third, Dixon fourth and Ayers fifth.

Chris Spalding has also been on a roll lately as he won his third straight feature in the USRA Modified class. The Modifieds went 20 laps caution free to thrill the fans with fast side by side racing. Defending track champion Houston Johnson edged out brother Austin Johnson for second. Austin was third, Lee Hibner was fourth and Dustin Hodges fifth.

The Sport Compacts finished the night with their 10-lap feature only slowed by 2 cautions. Isaiah Penton continues his stellar season picking up win number 3 followed by Chris Lewis, Brad Mick, Bobby Chilton and Drayven Sumpter.

Fan of the Week winner was Isabella Vest sponsored by J&L Construction LLC, Leadfoot Racing, Shaunie Lanning Racing, A&F Racing and Central Auto Racing Boosters/C.A.R.B.
