Hodges, Turner, Dixon, Bailey headline at I-35 Speedway

By Phillip Wilson (Winston, MO) -- One hundred nineteen cars checked into the pits at I-35 Speedway for Seeburg Mufflers night as track owner Mike Johnson once again gave drivers a great racing surface that provided racers 3, 4 and sometimes 5 lanes of racing.

The E-Mods once again started out the night and what has become the norm, Casey Burnett lead the way for most of the race, but tonight Aaron Jones would not be denied as he slipped under Burnett with two laps remaining to pick up his first career feature win. Burnett held on for second. After breaking in his heat race, Chris Dishong started in 22nd and raced his way up to third. Kevin Rash came in fourth and Blake Hayes fifth.

Coming into the night, the Pure Stocks have produced seven different winners in the first seven races. After tonight, that number moves to eight winners in eight races as Leroy Morrison won for the first time this season at I-35 Speedway. Morrison had many different challenges, including second place finisher Ava Dixon. Josh Marshall raced his way up from ninth to finish third, followed by Mike Miller and Brandon Dixon.

In the Midwest Limited Late Models Shayne Bailey continues his winning ways as he picks up his sixth feature win of the season. Bailey was challenged early by Ed Noll who finished second. Third went to Austin Johnson, fourth to Paul Glendenning and fifth to Michael Dotson.

In the biggest class of the night, the USRA B-Mods again went caution free with Shadren Turner picking up his fourth feature win of the season. Mike Striegel made his first trip to I-35 Speedway this year a successful one as he finished in second. Tyler Kidwell would finish in the third spot, followed by Reece Solander and Jake Richards.

In USRA Stock Car action, Jeff Dixon would race his way around the outside of Doug Keller to pick up his first feature win of the season. Doug Keller would settle into the second spot, followed by Waylon Dimmitt in third, Darren Phillips in fourth and Kameron Hanes in fifth.

In the USRA Modifieds, Dustin Hodges would pick up his first feature win at I-35 Speedway as he moved around Tyler Hibner a few laps into the feature. Steven Bowers Jr would race his way up to a second-place finish. Todd Shute took home a third place finish on his birthday. Tyler Hibner and Dillon McCowan would finish fourth and fifth.

To finish off the night, David Miller would pick up his third feature win of the season in Sport Compacts. It would not come easy though, as he had numerous challenges from second place Brad Mick, third place John Willard, fourth place Isaiah Penton and fifth place Harold Robb Sr.

Congratulations to Kathy Reed for winning the Fan on the Week, sponsored by Robb Racing, Fat Cat Motorsports, Shadren Turner/Whitt Racing, S&S Racing and Chad Allen Racing.

Join us next week for Dixon Construction Concrete Night as Little Buddies Power Wheels make their return to I-35 Speedway.
