Austin Beers Wins Third Straight Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 at Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. (July 12, 2025) – For the third year in a row, the winner’s trophy went down to Mudlane in Northampton, PA as one of “the four horsemen” Austin Beers won the fourth running of the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday night. Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY won his second Street Stock feature of the season. Scott Wylie from Blasdell, NY won the Late Model feature for his second Lancaster win of the season.

Matt Hirschman and Patrick Emerling were on the front row for the fourth running of the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, with Hirschman jumping into the early race lead. Tommy Catalano would take over third place from Luke Baldwin on lap three, with four time series champion Justin Bonsignore racing in the top five. By lap ten, Bonsignore would move into fourth, with Cousin Kyle taking over fifth. Catalano would battle with Patrick Emerling for second, as the lead trio would quickly pull away from the field. Hirschman and Emerling pulled away following a lap 21 caution, as Catalano, led Kyle and Justin Bonsignore. Austin Beers would work his way through the field and was challenging Luke Baldwin for sixth on lap 57. Beers would then pass Baldwin and Justin Bonsignore to move into fifth on lap 60. Emerling to the lead on lap 63, just as Kyle Bonsignore taking third away from Tommy Catalano. Beers would continue his march after passing Catalano. Craig Lutz spin in 4 to bring out caution lap 74. Everyone would come down pit road, and it would be Kyle B and Austin Beers on the front row for the restart on lap 81, with Kopcik in third place.

On lap 89, Emerling and Hirschman would battle for fourth and would complete the pass on lap 91. Luke Baldwin spun off two on lap 93 to bring out the caution. Kopcik spun the tires on the restart, allowing Emerling to take over second with Justin Bonsignore racing in third, with Hirschman in fourth ahead of Kopcik, Ryan Newman, and Tommy Catalano. Tommy spun in two to bring out the caution on lap 102. Bonsignore battled Emerling for second on lap 108, with Hirschman taking third on lap 110. On lap 130, Emerling would take over third place and then ten laps later, would move into second and would begin to chase down Beers for the lead. Emerling threw everything he could, but it would be Austin Beers winning his third NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Lancaster. Patrick Emerling and Matt Hirschman would round out the top three.

Chris Ridsdale and Andrew Nye were on the front row for the Sportsman feature, with Ridsdale showing the way. George Skora III would take over the lead on lap three, with Andy Jankowiak taking over second on lap six, with Tony Hanbury and Shawn Nye battled for fourth place for several laps. Skora and Jankowiak would pull away from the field at the race’s midway point. Jankowiak would try everything to reel in Skora, but a late-race caution would set up the restart that Jankowiak would need. Jankowiak would use the outside of the racetrack to power by Skora coming to the white flag and he would go on to win his first Sportsman event of the season, his 31st of his career in the division, and 48th career Lancaster checkered flag.

Evan Janek and Tim Garlock brought the Street Stocks to the green flag for their feature event, with Garlock in the lead. Dan Dressel would take over second, with Mark Hoch, Marty Kling, and Troyer Catalano. Hoch would take over second from Dressel on lap six and would close in on race leader Tim Garlock. Hoch would use the outside groove to take over the lead on lap 11. As the top four pulled away, Nathan Bryant would use the outside to take over fifth from Catalano with ten laps remaining. Dressel and Garlock would battle for second along with Dave Johnson and Bryant. Dressel would take over the runner up position with six laps remaining. Hoch would go on to score his second win of the season.

Dave Whittaker and Scott Wylie shared the front row for the Late Model feature, with Wylie in the lead. Whittaker lost the handle of his car in turn four and spun to bring out the caution. On the restart, Wylie would take off in the lead ahead of Bob Weber and Jacob Gustafson. With Wylie out front, Gustafson would close in on Weber for second place. Gustafson would take over the runner up spot on lap 14, but it was Scott Wylie pulling away to earn his second win of the season.

Racing returns on Saturday, July 19 as the Sportsman, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, Super Stocks, and Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4s will all be in action. Pit gates will open at 2pm, with practice beginning at 4pm, and racing will get underway at 6pm.
