Brian Brown Earns Podium During Sprint Car World Championship

Inside Line Promotions – MANSFIELD, Ohio (June 3, 2019) – Brian Brown captured a podium finish last Friday during the only night of the COMP Cams Sprint Car World Championship that was able to be completed since Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the track all weekend.
May 31 – Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio – Qualifying: 6; Heat race: 2 (3); Feature: 3 (6).
“We were pretty good there all weekend or for the night we got to race,” Brown said. “In the feature the track was rough with slick spots and rough spots. It was a difficult track. We did the best we could and salvaged what we could. We were third overall, really the high-point guy who didn’t win. That put us in a good spot to start in the first three rows to race for $100,000 on Saturday and then the rain came. Hopefully we can go back later in the year.”
Tuesday Appearance at Casey’s General Stores in Fairbury, Ill.
“We’ll be doing an appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow,” Brown said. “Fairbury is a big racing community so any time you can be at a Casey’s location and see your fans and see Casey’s customers and thank them for being customers it’s good. Then we’ll get to go race and see some FVP customers at the track so it will be a great day.”
UP NEXT – Tuesday at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa
“I think we were fourth quick and running second in a heat race last year,” Brown said. “We were pretty good and I got in there too hard and got into the fence. Knowing we had a good car there we’re looking forward to going back. Plus with FVP sponsoring the race it’s important for us to run well.
“Any time we can get back to Knoxville we’re excited. We’ve won both times out this year and look to continue that this Saturday.”
