26 Promotions – San Bernardino, CA – (September 28th, 2017) – Dylan Cappello entered Orange Show Speedway this past weekend looking to put a disappointing Irwindale result him and his team.

“In the past, we have had consistent top five cars at Orange Show Speedway,” said Cappello. “Ending practice Friday night, I believed we possibly had a car to win the race. We unloaded very fast and were already under our previous years qualifying time. After making some slight adjustments we were very confident in our race setup going into Saturday afternoon’s practice.”

Cappello was happy with the handling of the car after a mock qualifying run during Saturday’s opening practice. After discussing possible adjustments, the team decided to sit out final practice and prepare for qualifying.

Fighting a slightly tight racecar in the center of the corners on both laps cost Cappello a chance at the invert, qualifying tenth with a lap of 13.753.

“Early in the race, I knew we had a solid top three car and we began making our move through the field,” he said. “By using the choose cone to our advantage and battling on the outside multiple times, we found ourselves quickly in third-place.”

On a restart around lap thirty-two, a competitor in front of Cappello was battling for second and made a move to gain the inside line. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough room, causing Cappello and the car to make contact entering turn one to bring out the caution.

“Being involved in the caution, we were forced to rejoin the field from the rear,” Cappello explained. “Restarting twentieth, I knew we had our work cut out for us just to crack the top ten again on a tight quarter-mile track like Orange Show. I made some aggressive moves on the outside and took chances trying to salvage our spot in the points battle.”

Cappello battled his way through the field, crossing the line fifth as the checkers waved.

“My spotter, Steve, did a great job guiding me through wrecks and tight situations throughout the race,” said Cappello. “I can’t thank RBK Racing enough for sticking together and never quitting during some tough races.”

Cappello still sits second in the championship hunt, fifty-eight points behind Taylor Miinch with two races left in the championship season.

Cappello returns to Lucas Oil Modified Series action on October 7th at Madera Speedway.

Dylan would like to thank Ram Mounts, Arizona Garage Doors, Spray Nine, Driven Motorsports, Team RBK, Pro Power Racing Engines, Total Power Batteries, Roger Seymour Photography, and Bilstein Shocks for their continued support.
