Spencer Diercks 13th in Modified at West Liberty; fights motor issues in Late Model

Back with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Friday, Spencer Diercks made the trip to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the 18th round of the grueling summer series.

With an eighth-to-fifth run in his heat race relegating him into the B-Main, Diercks raced his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a runner-up finish. Starting in 18th, Spencer battled lingering motor issues that saw him depart on lap 8 of the 50-lapper.

Parking his Late Model to pull out his Modified on Saturday, Spencer returned to the Hawkeye State to compete at West Liberty Raceway (West Liberty, Iowa). Following a third-place finish in his heat, Dierks dropped five spots in the 15-lap feature to finish 13th.

In the Timmy Current-owned No. 12T on Sunday at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa), Diercks went third-to-first in his heat but was a scratch from the 25-lap feature.

Returning to the Super Late Models ranks at the Iowa Oval on Monday as the XR Super Series rolled into town, Diercks missed a transfer spot in his heat and B-Main, ending his bid into the $20,000-to-win Dubuque Key City Clash.

At his home track of Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Tuesday, Spencer secured his spot into the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned A-Main with a fourth-place run in his B-Main. Chasing a $10,000 payday, Diercks was sidelined on lap 17.
