Looking Forward 2016
My son Layne, was born March of 2013, best thing to ever happen to me. I knew he was important to me, but wasn't prepared for just how important he would become to me. His Mom and I couldn't make it together but we have found a way to raise him together so we can both be involved in his upbringing. Always knew that someday school and activities would force a decision on where he lived 100% of the time but always kept pushing it back.
Last fall the reality of it started to hit me and I knew the time was getting near. Was going to wait until the fall of 2016 to make the move to Iowa for me but as Layne has gotten older and able to understand what is going on and to voice it, that time was moved up to May of 2016. I have formed a bond with my son that I need to have constantly, not every 2 weeks. I was able to form several very important friendships with some people in Iowa so I am lucky to have a support system in Iowa already and appreciate the help and advice these people have and continue to give me.
My plan for right this moment, is to take my JetStrong Hobby Stock with me to Iowa and race it when and where I can, there are no concrete plans for that as I have to get settled and into a routine with my new job and new town but it will be so special for me to be this close to Layne all the time.
The Jet Racing Sport Mod will stay in Beatrice at my Dads and I will race it when I come back to visit from time to time wherever I feel like it. I WILL be at Super Nationals and hope to still be able to make it to the Duel In The Desert in Las Vegas in November with the Sport Mod.
I plan to always be racing a Jet car, I am so proud of our JetStrong car and will continue to race it and to help John and Jerry as they continue to build them in my absence. Johnny Saathoff has been nothing but fair to me and supportive in this design and build of these cars and has supported me in my move to be with my son, he knows and understands the why as he's a father himself. The support I've received from my family, friends, sponsors, and total strangers has made this move easier. My sponsors are truly the best in the business and have stuck with me through a lot and it means so much, that they are still going to be there with me in Iowa.
The last thing we have accomplished, and what I believe will be such a great addition to my racing team, is the My Race Pass designed website. This site has so many options and will make it so much easier to update and keep all our sponsors and fans involved in my racing. They are taking over all the design, print and sale of my t-shirts, which will ease a lot for me.
Layne and I can't thank all of you enough for all the love and support that has been shown to us. Layne, makes it easy, me, not so much sometimes but time and again, my fans have shown me true friendship and for that, I am a lucky man. Keep attending those races and Layne and I look forward to seeing you soon at a dirt track somewhere!!
