Dustin records 11th-place finish in Johnny Appleseed Classic at Eldora

After losing Saturday night’s event at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) to Mother Nature, Dustin Nobbe kicked off his Memorial Day weekend on Sunday afternoon at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the Johnny Appleseed Classic. Drawing 28 Sunoco American Late Model Series entries, Nobbe took control of lead early in his heat race but faded to finish second behind Ricky Weiss. On Monday, Dustin visited 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals finale. With 40 Late Models entered for the ninth annual Scott Sexton Memorial, Nobbe tagged the wall in his time trial session before pulling off in his B-Main. Electing to use a provisional into the $10,052-to-win A-Main, Dustin completed three laps before pulling off to save equipment.
