Top-10 finish in High Bank Nationals at Huset's Speedway
Ryan Timms returned to Huset’s Speedway this past week as the marquee High Bank Nationals kicked off with Wednesday’s Huset’s Hustle preliminary night.
With 60 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series entries on hand at the high-banked third-mile oval, Timms found himself buried after his heat race but nearly rallied into the main event through the B-Main. Charging forward 11 positions in the 12-lap consolation, he came up just two spots short of a transfer with a sixth-place finish.
Timms returned Thursday and successfully raced his way into the $100,000-to-win Huset’s Hustle finale by advancing from fifth to second in the last-chance qualifier. He carried that momentum into the feature, gaining four spots to finish 16th.
Friday’s prelim night for the High Bank Nationals saw Timms continue his strong form, finishing eighth in the 25-lap feature to set himself in a strong spot entering Saturday’s finale.
Lining up on the front row of his heat on Saturday, Timms locked into the $250,000-to-win main event with a runner-up heat finish. He capped a strong week by finishing seventh in the 40-lap finale, ending his High Bank Nationals campaign on a high note.
