Reutzel Sets Sights on Williams Grove National Open

Lonnie Wheatley, CLUTE, Texas (October 2, 2020) – Aaron Reutzel and the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports No. 87 Sprint Car team are back in central Pennsylvania for this weekend’s World of Outlaws double at Mechanicsburg’s Williams Grove Speedway.

The current All Star Circuit of Champions point leader closing in on a third consecutive series title will vie for this weekend’s $10,000 winner’s share on Friday night and then Saturday’s season-best $75,000 winner’s cut.

“We have to qualify well and then go from there,” the driver of the Folkens Brothers Trucking/Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution Triple-X Sprint Car commented.

Reutzel has fared well at the storied Posse oval in recent outings, picking off an All Star win in the Jack Gunn Memorial just two weeks ago for his tenth series win of the year. Reutzel also posted a pair of All Star wins at Williams Grove before posting a fourth-place finish in the National Open.

Already with 14 overall wins in 2020, the driver of the Precision Catalyst/Hollywood Blasting & Coating/Beard Equipment entry looks to rebound from Eldora’s Governors Reign and then a World of Outlaws outing at Plymouth Speedway that ended early with mechanical issues.

“We took Saturday at Lernerville off just to regroup and get ready for this weekend,” Reutzel says.

Following this weekend, Reutzel and the Nattress Construction/Momentum Racing Suspension team look to close out a third All Star title next weekend back in Ohio at Fremont Speedway.

But this weekend, the Fischer Body Shop team eyes that $75,000 National Open prize.

2020 Quick Stats: 75 races, 14 wins, 36 top-fives, 49 top-tens.

Next Up: World of Outlaws at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, PA) “National Open” on Friday and Saturday.
