Three Drivers Lead Sides Motorsports to Top 10s With World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Nov. 17, 2020) – Jason Sides completed his 16th season on the road as a full-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competitor in 2020.
“I’m glad it’s over as far as everything goes with the pandemic, racing, all of it,” he said. “This year was a struggle just trying to figure out where you’re going to go from one week to the next. They did the best they could to get races in and make up races. It was just a different type of year.”
Sides Motorsports produced eight top 10s between Sides, Tim Kaeding and Shane Stewart.
“Our performance lacked a little bit,” Sides said. “I think the beginning of the year set us back a bit. We crashed at Volusia Speedway Park and we were chasing from that point. It takes the wind out of your sails when you start the year like that.”
Sides’ best run came in July when he hustled from 21st to seventh during the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. He also netted a top 10 during the AGCO Jackson Nationals hosted by Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.; the Texas Outlaw Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas; and at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis.
Kaeding claimed top 10s at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.; and at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind. Stewart posted a top 10 during the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.
Sides placed 11th in the World of Outlaws driver standings while Sides Motorsports finished 10th in the owner standings.
“I want to thank everyone who sticks with us,” he said. “Without those people we couldn’t do it. Thanks to all of them and we’re looking forward to running with the Outlaws again in 2021.”
