Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Wingless Sprint Series would pay a visit to Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday, May 20th. It would be the first visit to the historic ¼-mile clay oval in 2017. Fourteen drivers would make the venture to CGS representing the state of Oregon and Washington.

Rob Lindsey, of Sherwood, took control of the lead early in the main event. It would last for a short while though as Kyle Miller would get up on the wheel to make it around Lindsey. Miller, out of Eugene and driving for Kady Adelman, dominated the field once taking over the top spot and went on to win the race.

Rob Lindsey finished second followed by Thurston’s Ricky Ashley. The remainder of the top five finishers consisted of Tim Alberding, from Salem, and Sutherlin teenager Cooper Desbiens in fourth and fifth respectively. Earlier in the evening Rob Lindsey was fast time of the night while Ricky Ashley was victorious in the trophy dash. Heat races winners were Lindsey and Kyle Miller.

The Wingless Sprint Series will make the trip to Grays Harbor Raceway on Saturday, May 27th. It will be the first journey outside of the state of Oregon and is the largest facility the tour visits all year long.
