Driever Records Two Top Fives to Earn ASCS Frontier Region Rookie of the Year Award

Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Sept. 14, 2021) – Tyler Driever garnered two more top fives last weekend to secure the Rookie of the Year Award and a runner-up result in the ASCS Frontier Region championship standings.

“I’m really happy with it,” he said. “For our first full season of running 360s to finish second in points was awesome.”

Driever produced a solid weekend in Montana during the final two rounds of the ASCS Frontier Region season, beginning on Friday when he advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race and from sixth to fifth place in the main event at Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade.

“It rained right before our heat so the track was one lane and no one did much passing at all,” he said. “Going into the main event we only had one race between our heat race and the main event so the track was the same deal. It was stomp and steer with little to no passing.”

Driever made the most of the situation for his 10th top five of the season.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway, where he placed second in a heat race.

“Our car was pretty locked down in the heat race, but Logan (Forler) got me there in the end to win it,” he said. “We drew the No. 7 in the feature redraw to line up seventh. We made some passes pretty quickly. I was up to third after Logan spun, but he got me again toward the end so we finished fourth. I was happy with our run.”

Driever will take the next month off before wrapping up his season Oct. 21-23 at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., during the Trophy Cup.
