HARDY AND YODER SUNDAY STARS OF HAGERSTOWN'S FRANK SAGI TRIBUTE

Hagerstown, MD (7/28/24)- It would be a big night for Middleburg Pa’s Dylan Yoder and Winchester Va’s Kyle Hardy as they split the Twin 20’s Late Model features during the “Frank Sagi Tribute” at Hagerstown Speedway.
In the first 20-lap main Trever Feathers and Coleby Frye brought the field to green with Feathers surging into the race lead as the field boomed off turn number two. Feathers lead would last until the fifth lap when Mason Ziegler charged in to become the new leader. Ziegler’s lead would only last for two laps as a flat tire would end Ziegler‘s run prematurely. On the ensuing restart Feathers was back in front with fourth starting Kyle Hardy now in second. Feathers would then start to drive off to a healthy lead until his car tossed a drive shaft ending his night on the 15th lap. Hardy would become the third and final leader of the event as he would go on to take the $3500 win for his 11th career Hagerstown feature win adoard his Sommey Lacey Racing owned Rocket No.45. “This has been a great weekend for us.” Hardy stated in victory lane. “We won with the Crate Car at Potomac on Friday, won in this car last night at Winchester and now winning here tonight, I don’t know what to say.” Hardy knew he had a good race car but tracking down Feathers was going to be a challenge. “Thats was a bad deal for Trever.” Hardy quipped. “I think we were gaining on him, but he had a pretty big lead, but that’s racing and it worked in our favor tonight.” 14th starting Drake Troutman took second, Ross Robinson took third, Dylan Yoder was fourth with 16th starting Kyle Lee rounding out the top five.
In the second 20-lapper the invert placed Andrew Yoder and Kyle Lee on the front row, and when the green was displayed Yoder shot into the race lead as the field entered turn one with Dylan Yoder in tow. Andrew appeared on his way to score his first career Hagerstown Late Model win as he would pace the field past half-way. Dylan Yoder then found the bottom of the speedway to his liking as he swept by Andrew to take the lead on the 12th lap and drive off uncontested to score his 3rd career Hagerstown win and $3500 pay day over eventual runner up Kyle Lee. “Our car was decent in the first feature, but we made some changes during the fuel stop and we were pretty good after that.” Said Yoder. “I just want to thank Alan (Sagi) for putting this race together because I know it’s a lot of work for him and it is always nice to win here at Hagerstown.” Dylan thought he had a shot at the win as Andrews high side line was starting to fade. “He was running pretty good up there, but I knew there couldn’t be a whole lot left so we just kept our line down low and we were able to get the job done.” Andrew Yoder settled for third, Kyle Hardy took fourth with Drake Troutman rounding out the top five. Trever Feathers what is the overall fast qualifier with a one lap time of 18.511 over the 36 car field. Heat race wins went to Trever Feathers, Mason Zeigler, Coleby Frye and Kyle Hardy with twin B mains going to Gary Stuhler and Tyler Bare.
