Action Track Preview- And Then There Were Three

Sarver, PA (August 9, 2018) Three more chances. That's all that remains of the 2018 regular season as another Fab4 Friday night Fueled by Turners Premium Iced Teas prepares to grace the clay on Friday night. Three more chances to nail down season championships, hunt an elusive feature win that has evaded some drivers this season, or to climb one or two spots better in the season points standings.
This Friday night will be brought to you by Advance Auto Parts who will have a few promotions on hand as they support the racing action on Friday night as the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks set to do battle.
Sodeman Jr. Makes Up Ground
Jack Sodeman Jr. climbed even closer to points leader AJ Flick as he trimmed Flick's lead from 16 markers to nine following last week's heat win and third place feature finish. With three more races left, a nine point deficit is more than manageable as both Sodeman and Flick will both have ability to redraw for their starting position on Friday night. Meanwhile, George Hobaugh's recent struggles at The Action Track were not echoed at Sharon Speedway as Hobaugh took a rewarding and popular $3,000 victory last Saturday night while Sye Lynch took his first career feature victory at Lernerville last Friday night, dominating the field en route to Terry Bowser Victory Lane.
Norris and King Jr. Inch Closer
Michael Norris and Rex King Jr. have both had seasons to remember in the Late Models and Big Block Modifieds respectively, and they are getting very close to capping those with championships. Norris currently has a 93 point edge over second place Ken Schaltenbrand and seven feature victories so far, and with a win can all but wrap up the title if not clinch it outright. Meanwhile, King has an 81 point lead over second running Dave Murdick and five feature wins thus far and finds himself in circumstances similar to Norris in terms of being able to close out the title soon.
McPherson and Dietz Have All Eyes On Them
Corey McPherson's win and Tyler Dietz's misfortune helped give McPherson some cushion in the Pro Stocks albeit not an entire comfortable margin. Dietz finds himself trailing McPherson by seven points with three races left and will need to keep the door shut if he is to hang to the lead and take yet another track championship. All eyes will be on the battle for Pro Stock supremacy this Friday night as the action gets hotter and wilder with each lap down the stretch.
