Sarver, PA (August 16, 2018) Drivers and fans are ready to get back at it at The Action Track following the first rain canceled Fab4 Friday Night Fueled by Turners Premium Iced Tea since April. This Friday night, the Peoples Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar/RUSH Pro Stocks battle for another week with the end of the regular season in sight, and eyes on two division titles yet to be claimed.
Friday night will also feature Go Kart Night, fans can check out some of the area's finest Go Karts that compete week in and week out at some of the Kart tracks in the surrounding area. Karts will be on display on the concourse behind the turn four grandstands.
Flick and Sodeman Take It To The Wire
Jack Sodeman Jr. climbed even closer to points leader AJ Flick as he trimmed Flicks lead from 16 markers to nine following a heat win and third place feature finish on August, 3. With two more races left, a nine point deficit is more than possible to overcome as both Sodeman and Flick will both have ability to redraw for their starting position on Friday night. Meanwhile, George Hobaughs recent struggles at The Action Track were not echoed at Sharon Speedway as Hobaugh took a rewarding and popular $3,000 victory two weeks ago while Sye Lynch took his first career feature victory at Lernerville on the last completed Fab4 Friday night on August 3, dominating the field en route to Terry Bowser Victory Lane.
Two Champions Crowned in Two Amazing Seasons
Michael Norris and Rex King Jr. would have probably clinched their respective titles on the track while collecting yet another feature victory last Friday night. However, mother nature stepped in and prevented that scenario and in the process shortened the Fab4 weekly series by one week, which gave them enough of a point margin to be declared champions for the second time in their careers.
Norris managed to earn his second consecutive title in the Late Models, amassing seven feature wins in the process with a chance to earn nine wins before all is said and done. Meanwhile, King Jr. took his first title since 2014, a year in which he won the championship at Lernerville, Sharon Speedway and also took the honors in the BRP Modified Tour standings as well. King has been the class of the Modified field in 2018, putting up five main event wins and finishing off the podium just once this season.
McPherson and Dietz Have All Eyes On Them
Corey McPhersons win and Tyler Dietzs misfortune helped give McPherson some cushion in the Pro Stocks albeit not an entire comfortable margin when the dust settled on August 3. Dietz now finds himself trailing McPherson by seven points with two races left as McPherson will need to keep the door shut if he is to the take yet another track championship. All eyes will be on the battle for Pro Stock supremacy this Friday night as the action gets hotter and wilder with each lap down the stretch.
Pit gates will open at 4 PM with grandstands opening at 5 PM and racing starting at 7:30 PM sharp. Adult general admission is $15, $12 for seniors, $10 for students ages 11-17 and children 10 and under are free. Pit passes are available for $25 for DIRTcar Members and $30 for non-members. We look forward to seeing you there.
