Southern Street Stock Nationals: Night Two Delivers Excitement as Drivers Secure Spots for Saturday’s Main Event

(Meridian, MS - August 17, 2024) – Night two of the 12th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park, brought thrilling action and drama to the track as 18 more drivers earned their place in the highly anticipated Saturday night main event. The fervor continued to build at the premier event for Street Stock racing enthusiasts, with standout performances in the B-Mains and Dash setting the stage for an electrifying conclusion to the weekend.

On Friday night, the addition of 18 drivers to the main event roster was a testament to the intense competition and skill on display. Oakley Johns, Ivedent Lloyd, Hayden Moran, Brandon Hill, Michael Santangelo, and Andrew Stone emerged victorious in their respective B-Mains, while Shelby Sheedy, Bubba Vandygriff, Jason Garver, Caiden Jackson, Parker Cloud, Dallon Murty, Dalton Peavy, Joshua L. Arabie, TJ Herndon, Brian Rickman, Rod Tucker, and Luke Bennett also secured their spots in the main event through impressive performances.

With a total of 30 drivers now locked in for Saturday night’s main event, fans can expect an exhilarating showdown. However, there’s still one last chance qualifier left to run, providing the final opportunity for drivers to make their mark. Those not yet qualified or in the last chance qualifier will compete in one of three non-qualifier features.

In addition to the B-Main action, the night saw the six-qualifier feature winners go head-to-head in a Dash to determine the starting positions for the main event. Multi-time Southern Street Stock Nationals champion, Chad Thrash, maintained his flawless performance by clinching the Dash win. As a result, he will lead the field alongside Corey Neil Jr. on the front row for Saturday night's main event. Travis Marsh will join them on the front row, with Logan Bright, Carl Kilgore IV, and Mickey Trosclair rounding out the second row.
