Ken Ragan to join Speedrome Live

Unadilla, Georgia’s Ken Ragan has been involved in motorsports nearly all of his life. This love for racing carried down from the preceding generation to his generation which includes his brother Marvin. That love was passed on again to his son David. Ken is a former NASCAR Sprint Cup driver with 50 starts under his belt between 1982 and 1990. He scored a career best finish of 11th in 1984 at the Talladega Superspeedway. Ragan also made several NASCAR Nationwide Series starts. In recent years, he has spent time as the General Manager for US Legend Cars International, the national sanctioning body for the INEX zMax Legends, INEX Bandoleros, and Thunder Roadsters. He also spends time running the families car dealerships.

But it is the time in-between his driving career and his other jobs that most people know about. The past 15 years was his proudest project, bringing his son David through the racing ranks. David started out in the INEX Bandoleros which cumulated in winning the Nationals in 1999. The next segment saw him win numerous features and championship in the Legend cars while also getting opportunities in Goody’s Dash Series and ARCA. David’s big break came courtesy of Jack Roush. In 2007 he won top rookie honors in the Nationwide Series while also competing full-time in Sprint Cup. Just this past Saturday night, he captured his first win in top series at Daytona no less in the Coke Zero 400.
