Scott Brothers attends Clash at the Mag at Magnolia Motor Speedway
Thursday night found both Stormy and Johnny Scott in action at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) for the three-day General Tire Clash at the Mag. With 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand for two rounds of preliminary features leading up to the main event on Saturday, Johnny fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish while Stormy came in fifth. Needing a second place finish or better in their B-Main, Johnny posted a second place spot behind Jonathan Davenport while Stormy slipped back to a sixth place outing. Starting the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature in 22nd, Johnny Scott held his position for all 25-laps to place 22nd.
On Friday afternoon for another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Stormy came one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish while Johnny posted a seventh place outing. For the final round of the General Tire Clash at the Mag on Saturday, Johnny secured his spot into the finale with a runner-up finish in his B-Main behind Shanon Buckingham while Stormy was forced to rely on a provisional into the show. With $15,000 on the line, Johnny improved three spots to place 19th. A cloud of smoke billowing underneath the hood of Stormy’s ride before the start of the 100-lapper prevented him from completing a lap.
