Banks, Oregon- After last Saturday night was rained out Sunset Speedway Park moves on to this Saturday, June 16th as it’s next event. The always fun Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Rockstar, will get your racing prescription bottle filled as an astounding seven classes take to the “Banks Bullring”. They include the Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Pure Stocks, 4-Bees, and New Bees.
Fan Appreciation Night is one of the most popular events on the schedule because it is one of the few times that we park all cars in the pit area onto the race tracks for our awesome fans to get up close and personal with our drivers. Several teams will have apparel for sale, hero cards to handout, and are always up for signing autographs/posing for pictures.
In just two Super Late Model races Britton Donahoo and Willie Sutton are the two winners. Arnie Case has yet to be defeated in the Street Stocks, in fact he is a perfect five for five thus far. In the Pure Stocks Tanner Krohling has made it to victory lane twice while Bert Pegg won the big Bud Light Iron Man 100 two weeks ago.
There has yet to be a repeat winner in the IMCA Modified ranks thus far this season. Trevor LaBarge, Collen Winebarger, Aaron Elwess, Greg Walters, and Jimmy Schram have all occupied victory lane once. The same can be stated in the Dwarf Cars as the winner’s circle has seen Shane Youngren, Jeremiah Hester, Jake Tupper, and Josh Rodgers celebrate.
Ryan Conroy has been the man to beat in the 4-Bees. Despite having his five main event win streak snapped on Juned 2nd he still tops the table with a hefty win total. Austin Henderson and Captain Turnabout are the only two guys to have beat him. The New Bees have had four different winners in as many races. That win list includes Cutlass Jones, Ryan Potter, Barry Cannon, and Dakota Vorseth.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Tickets, apparel, and more can be purchased online at www.pnwdirtracing.com .
