DeBenedetti And Bratten Earn August 21st Wins At Southern Oregon

White City, Oregon- Despite just a couple of classes in action, fans of Southern Oregon Speedway were treated to some delightful racing on Saturday, August 21st. The Sweet Tea Express IMCA Modifieds and the Dusty’s Transmissions IMCA Northern Sport Mods, presented by Karl Kustoms, were on the agenda.
Rogue River’s Jon DeBenedetti parked his mount in victory lane in the Sweet Tea Express IMCA Modifieds. DeBenedetti has collected two wins in 2021 at SOS and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region and KMJ Performance Oregon State competition. Jon’s last victory was back on June 12th during the Roger Haudenschild Tribute.
Klamath Falls cruiser Zach Fettinger ended the night second over third, finishing Mark Wauge, of Medford. White City’s Ray Kniffen Jr. and Nick Trenchard, from Klamath Falls and in the Rich and Nicky Biehn owned entry, was fourth and fifth.
For the Dusty’s Transmissions IMCA Northern Sport Mods, presented by Karl Kustoms, Jorddon Braaten reigned supreme. The Central Point chauffeur now has four wins at SOS in 2021, six KMJ Performance Oregon State triumphs, and a total of eight trophies collected on the year. His last victory came on July 10th, at Southern Oregon Speedway.
Medford motorists Mike Medel and Dwayne Melvin were second and third, respectively. Matt Sanders, from Brookings, posted a fourth-place finish followed by Yreka, California teenager Ryan Peery, in fifth.
Southern Oregon Speedway returns to racing on Saturday, August 28th, for Sherwin Williams Night. The World Famous Autos Sprints, CD Architects Late Models, Outlaw Pro Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Hornets are all scheduled to be on the bill.
