Carter Weedon
On the Podium at Shenandoah
Carter was at Shenandoah Speedway Saturday night for the 25-lap Legend Car Feature.
The threat of rain looming most of the afternoon and even a brief shower between practice and qualifying couldn't stop a great night of racing.
Carter was happy with the car all day. With one of the fastest times in practice he was looking forward to qualifying and put the #22 on the outside of the front row with a 17.605 just 0.051 off the poll.
The field of 11 Legend cars took the track for the 25-laps of racing. Carter Weedon and Chris Lilly raced nose-to-tial for much of the race. Carter made several attempts on the inside, but was not able to complete the pass. A caution on lap 17 bunched the field back up for the closing laps. Chris and Carter remained 1 & 2 for the last 8 laps. The race featured some exciting side-by-side tight racing between Carter and Chris.
Carter's 2nd place finish is a break through result. He put up the fastest lap time of the race and a personal best of 17.410.
Next up is the double 25-lap features at Southside Speedway
