Neiser & Marcoullier Cash In Big Victories @ Winston

Rothbury, Michigan (Friday June 21st, 2013): Race fans made their way out to the fast 3/8ths (0.375) mile high banked dirt oval of Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan on Friday Night. They were treated by a program that was headlined by a Four-Cylinder Warrior special presented by Ginman tire. The high powered UMP Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Four-Cylinder Mini Stocks, and Young Guns were also in action.

The Four-Cylinder Warriors took to their special main event where Chad Tomczak would cross the finish first. However he would later be disqualified due to denying a claim. Then the win shifted to the second place driver Chops Barnhard, but in post-race inspection it was discovered that his car did meet the weight requirements. That in turn gave the win to Ric Nic. Christian Wynbelt was second, Chris Gagnon, Melissa Young, and Ray Geeting rounded out the top five. Tomczak, Wynbelt, and Gary Larabee won the heat races.

The UMP Super Late Models would see five-time track champion Rich Nesier go to the winners circle as the winner of their feature event. He picked up the win over; Bret Darling, Bill Bray, two time defending track champion Tom Sprague Jr., and Jacob Poel who all made up the rest of the top five. Darling was the winner of the lone heat race.

The UMP Modifieds went head to head a showdown that would end with Dona Marcoullier getting the big win. Jacob Poel would have to settle for second. Defending track champion Andy Sprague, Derek Passenier, and Steve McClees finished off the top five. Marcoullier and Poel won the heats.

Kendall Marlink would be the big winner for Street Stocks as he was the first to the checkered flag. The runner up position went to Sadie Klein. Brian “Dozer” Crane, two time and defending UMP DIRTcar racing series eastern points and track champion Dan Dykman, and Mark Farber capped off the top five. Klein and Chuck Smith picked up the heat wins.
Defending track champion Josh Sternberg went home as the winner of the Factory Stocks main event. Rob Sternberg finished second. Jarid Bission, Nate Trick, and Josh Grabe were the top five. The races were taken by Rob & Josh Sternberg.

The Four-Cylinder Mini Stocks also competed in their A-main. When it was all over Rich Lieb was the driver heading to victory lane as the feature winner. Two time and defending UMP DIRTcar racing series eastern points and 2011 track champion Paul Namey was the runner up. Carl McCann, Kyle Hamm, and Brian Carson completed the top five. Lieb was also the winner of the lone heat race.

Finally the Young Guns would see newcomer Lydia Huisken win their feature event. Tony Taylor wound up in second. Morgan Smith, Trent Musk, and Kristina Johnson rounded out the top five finishers. Huisken also won their heat race.

Next week Friday June 28th the racing at Winston Speedway will be highlighted by the Paul Bouwman Memorial for UMP Modifieds as they will race for a special $750 to win prize. The Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Four-Cylinder Mini Stocks, Four-Cylinder Warriors, and Young Guns will make up the rest of nights program. Every Friday night, the Pit Gates Open at 4:00p.m. Grandstand Gates Open at 5:00p.m. Practice Starts at 6:30p.m., and Racing Begins at 7:30p.m.
